When you first said there were three stages, I was definitely like - I'm in the serving stage - but now I think I am still in the healing stage. I'm not sure I love the word "assignment", but I agree with the way you describe it. Also the part where you say that when you're aligned with your assignment, it impacts people because they feel the purpose, intentionality and care with which you bring your work forward." That really resonated with me.
I'm so glad you got the subtle distinction about healing vs serving. We have way to many folks serving others and not tending their own healing. The consequences are often painful for themselves and others. True, healthy, sustainable service comes from our overflow, and we need nothing in return from those we serve. Most folks are serving out of obligation, judgement and guilt. Their service comes from lack and they are hoping to recieve love, recognition and appreciation, etc from the folks they serve or those who see them when this should be coming from within them primarily. Their service is never enough to fill the "not enoughness" they feel inside. Healing is they way forward for these individuals.
Thank you Michael. These were the words I needed to hear today.
Wonderful! Thank you for watching. 🙏🏽 What stood out most for you?
